Lotería is a traditional Mexican board game of chance, similar to bingo.
Every image has a name and an assigned number, but the number is usually ignored.

History of Loteria:

The game originated in Italy in the 15th Century and was brought to New Spain (modern Mexico) in 1769.
In the beginning, loteria was a hobby of the upper class, but eventually it became tradition at Mexican fairs.

Loteria Game

Rules:

1. The cantor (singer) selects a card from the deck of 54 cards.
2. If a player has the card on their board, they put their token on the square.
3. The first player to have four tokens in a row (horizontal, diagonal, or vertical) shouts “Lotería!” and wins the game!
